Today is the 85th anniversary of the birth of one of my favorite basketball players of all time: George Mikan. Mikan dominated the NBA from 1946-1956. He was a center for the NBA'S very first dynasty, the Minneapolis Lakers. He was also a big figure in pro basketball becoming popular.
